About
This is a community package of Thorium Reader, maintained independently. It repackages the official upstream build unmodified.
Thorium Reader is a free reading application from EDRLab, built on the Readium toolkit, with a strong focus on accessibility. It reads:
- EPUB 2 and 3 e-books, including fixed-layout and media overlays.
- Audiobooks, DAISY books, PDF and comics.
- Titles protected with Readium LCP, such as those lent by public libraries.
It works with screen readers, has read aloud, adjustable typography and themes, annotations and bookmarks, and can browse OPDS catalogs.
The package has network access for catalogs, library lending and LCP licenses, can play audio, and can use the desktop's speech-dispatcher for read aloud. It has no access to your files: publications are imported through the file chooser portal and copied into Thorium's own library in the application's private per-app directory.
