About
This is a community package of SolidCraft, maintained independently and unaffiliated with the SolidCraft project. It repackages the official upstream Linux release build unmodified.
SolidCraft is an open-source parametric 3D CAD application written in Rust. Sketch on a plane, constrain and dimension the sketch, turn profiles into solids on a feature timeline, and change a parameter to watch the timeline rebuild.
- Sketches with a constraint solver and parameter-driven dimensions
- Extrude, revolve, sweep, loft, fillet, chamfer, shell, holes and patterns
- Components and joints, sheet metal, and a plastic-enclosure subset
- STEP and IGES import and export; 3MF, STL and OBJ
- Every action is a command, scriptable from a CLI, a JSON control channel and an MCP server
The headless command runner and MCP server is included: flatpak run --command=solidcraft-cli io.github.bherbruck.SolidCraft --help
Permissions: this package uses the same sandbox as upstream's own Flatpak manifest: display (Wayland, with X11 as a fallback), the GPU device, and the Documents folder. Files anywhere else are opened and saved through the system file chooser. No network access is granted.
Optional overrides:
- Let agents on the host reach the
--controlautomation server:flatpak override --user --share=network io.github.bherbruck.SolidCraft - Open files by path anywhere in your home folder:
flatpak override --user --filesystem=home io.github.bherbruck.SolidCraft
